Job summary

Covenant Living Communities and Services seeks a Laundry Aide to pick up, launder, and redistribute resident clothing and towels for assigned residents. You will label items for outside processing, ensure proper sorting, and redistribute clean laundry to resident rooms and storage areas.

Requirements include a year of high school, good English communication, prior housekeeping or laundry experience, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• One year high school education.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written in English.
• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to organize routine schedule and duties to complete each day's responsibilities.
• Be able to make independent decisions in the absence of supervisor.
• An interest in and desire to work with older adults.

Responsibilities

• Collect soiled resident clothing from rooms and utility areas.
• Receive items from nursing personnel for laundering.
• Separate items for laundering or dry-cleaning and label as needed.
• Check returned laundry and redistribute to residents.
• Operate washing machines and dryers with proper temperatures and detergents.
• Notify supervisor of worn or unusable items.
• Launder household belongings as needed (posies, bedspreads).
• Sort and distribute laundered items to rooms/storage areas.
• Collect soiled towels and distribute clean towels.
• Advise on laundry supply needs and assist with linen distribution.
• Be familiar with housekeeper duties to fill in when needed.
