Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must meet in-service training requirements.
• Desire to work with seniors and uphold privacy, dignity, independence.
• Able to work well with others as part of a team.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk long periods.
• Must read, write, and understand English.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; seniors experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to and conveys a philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents.
• Reviews resident Service Plans to gain familiarity with needs and preferences.
• Reviews the Staff Communication log and notes for changes in needs/health.
• Provides personal services to residents as assigned per Service Plans.
• Helps residents with medications and/or treatments as indicated and allowed by regulation.
• Responds to calls from the emergency system promptly.
• Demonstrates infection control procedures.
• Maintains a clean, comfortable, safe environment including housekeeping as needed.
• Participates in social/recreational activities and encourages resident participation.
• Monitors changes in resident needs and reports them per procedures.
• Responds to emergencies as trained.
• Reports any abuse to supervisor/agencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
