Job summary

Legacy Funeral Group is seeking a Removal Technician to care for the deceased with respect and professionalism. You will perform removals from hospitals, nursing homes or residences and transport remains to mortuary or funeral homes, while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and PPE supplies.

This non-exempt role requires high school education, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication and log-keeping abilities. A compassionate, detail-oriented team player is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months’ work experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of computers and some software is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills.
• High level of compassion and integrity.
• Strong problem solving ability.
• Ability to multi task and set priorities.
• Detail oriented and a professional team player.

Responsibilities

• Care for deceased in a respectful manner.
• Adhere to licensing and authority regulations.
• Keep a log of all deceased in care and those transferred.
• Promote a safe work environment and universal precautions.
• Perform removals from hospital, nursing home or residence to mortuary or funeral home.
• Transport to mortuary or funeral home, may remove from prep rooms.
• Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of removal vehicle.
• Maintain adequate supply of PPE in removal vehicles.
