Job summary

Opis Senior Services Group in Florida is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support residents in a skilled nursing facility. Deliver therapy under supervision, help with exercises, promote mobility and independence, and make a meaningful impact in daily care.

Whether experienced or new to the role, candidates with empathy and a willingness to learn are welcome. Florida PTA licensure is required; experience with elderly residents is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current PTA certification or license in the state of Florida.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with elderly or rehabilitating residents.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and other care team members.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
• Basic understanding of rehabilitation principles and SNF regulatory guidelines (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Assist residents with mobility training, gait training, transfers, and strengthening exercises
• Implement individualized therapy treatment plans according to resident needs
• Monitor resident progress and document outcomes accurately and timely
• Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding therapeutic activities and home exercise programs
• Maintain a safe and clean therapy environment, ensuring equipment is used appropriately
• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapy teams, and interdisciplinary teams to support overall care plans
• Encourage resident participation and promote independence in daily functional activities
