Job summary

Under the supervision of a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse, the CNA provides direct patient care and unit support to ensure a clean, safe environment. Responsibilities include observation, documentation, vital signs, and assistance with activities of daily living for residents in Edinburg, TX.

Requires CNA/PCT certification, BLS/CPR, and English proficiency; hospital experience preferred. PRN position with emphasis on teamwork and patient-family hospitality in a dynamic healthcare

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Certified Nurse Assistant or PCT program.
• Current CNA or Patient Care Tech certification required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English, required
• Prefer hospital experience

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
• Adhere to department leadership instructions and perform duties per DHR routines and policies.
• Follow Standard Precautions and OSHA Guidelines; observe MRSA, contact and respiratory precautions as necessary.
• Maintain an organized, neat, well stocked resident unit.
• Prepare and maintain a record of observations and care; document clearly and timely.
• Assist with admissions and orient families to the unit; provide hospitality to residents’ families.
