Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for its Laboratory PSC teams in Rochester, NY. In this role you will perform venipuncture and capillary collections, obtain sufficient blood samples for tests, and interact directly with patients, nursing staff, and house staff.

You will explain procedures, ensure patient comfort and safety, label and transport specimens, and complete the required paperwork.

Qualifications

• PBT (ASCP) certification preferred.
• Good communication skills and patient interaction abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and skin puncture per physician orders.
• Explain procedures, ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Label and transport specimens, prepare for processing.
• Handle calls, greet patients, schedule appointments if applicable.
• Verify insurance where applicable; document data accurately.
• Maintain safety standards and equipment use.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work at multiple Patient Service Centers.
