Responsibilities

• Greet patients professionally and explain procedures.
• Verify patient identity and confirm test orders for accurate labeling.
• Perform venipuncture using sterile technique.
• Prepare collection sites using antiseptic techniques.
• Monitor patient reactions and provide post-procedure care.
• Receive, open, and sort specimen bags for processing.
• Prepare specimens for transport, testing, and analysis.
• Maintain specimen integrity and prevent cross-contamination.
• Ensure specimens meet laboratory requirements prior to testing.
• Utilize EHR/LIS to manage orders and documentation.
• Accurately check patients in/out and release orders to LIS.
• Enter patient demographics and test codes into the system.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory.
• Support daily laboratory operations in a fast-paced environment.
