Job summary

HarmonyCares is actively seeking a Patient Advocate – Pharmacy Technician to support the centralized patient contact center and deliver exceptional service for medication refills and renewal processing in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

The role requires accurate EMR data entry, teamwork with pharmacists, and consistent, empathetic communication with patients and care teams to maintain high satisfaction and workflow efficiency.

Qualifications

• Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with current, unrestricted license.
• Minimum 3 years of pharmacy technician experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for callers with medication refill requests, and either resolves the call or redirects callers to other teams or escalates to the pharmacist per protocols.
• Maintain clear and compassionate communication with patients, family members, providers, pharmacists, and other external entities, representing the company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions.
• Enter prescription renewal requests into the EMR, review patient records to identify discrepancies and resolve.
• Follow renewal protocols to enter quantities and refills for renewals.
• Identify and elevate medication issues that fall outside protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, staff and pharmacies.
• Optimize refill service workflows to improve efficiencies and outcomes.
• Maintain documentation within EMR related to renewals.
