Job summary

Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association seeks a Personal Care Assistant to support clients with daily living tasks and health-related activities in a team-based home care setting.

You will follow detailed care plans, provide basic personal care, assist with meals, mobility, and hygiene, and use EVV for timekeeping. The role emphasizes safety, confidentiality, and respectful, client-centered care, reporting to the Home Care Manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read and write required.
• Minimum 6 months caregiving experience, validated through references.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Follow client care plans and complete daily tasks via EVV or electronic timesheets.
• Provide basic personal care including bathing, grooming, ambulation, meals, feeding, and transfers with walkers or wheelchairs.
• Maintain safety and infection control; notify supervisors of hazards or changes in client condition.
• Encourage client self-help and respect privacy and confidentiality.
• Assist with laundry, cleaning, and groceries only if specified in care plans.
• Administer medications only through self-administration support, never direct administration.
• Report abuse, neglect, or unsafe conditions immediately.
