Job summary

Maxim Healthcare in San Luis Obispo, CA is hiring a Personal Care Assistant to support clients with personal care, mobility and therapeutic needs.

Hourly pay is $20–$22 with weekly paychecks. You will assist with transfers, companionship and daily activities under a care plan, reporting changes to supervisors.

Requirements include state licensure as required by state, 1 year of relevant experience preferred, current BLS, PPD or chest X-ray, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with clients, families and supervisors.
• Proficiency in basic computer tasks.
• Ability to coordinate with health and school resources.

Responsibilities

• Provides services to persons who need help with day-to-day activities
• Provides health care tasks, personal hygiene services, and related support
• Assists with transfers and ambulation
• Performs incidental household services integral to a personal care plan
• Provides companionship and engages clients in activities
• Assists client in self-care activities like toileting and dressing
• Reports changes in client status as directed by care plan
• Performs other duties as assigned/necessary
