Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking staff to support patient transport, mail services, and equipment handling within our clinic and hospital environments. The role focuses on safe patient movement, accurate chart handling, and reliable mail and equipment logistics.

From escorting patients to assisting with mail and transport tasks, you will operate in a fast-paced health care setting while following safety guidelines and department protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend English and perform alpha-numeric sorting.
• 1 year of experience in a related setting.

Responsibilities

• Patient Escort: safely transports patients using wheelchairs and stretchers; confirms patient identity and accompanies charts and requisitions.
• Messenger: transports mail between departments and delivers patient charts to floors.
• Mail Room: sorts mail, applies postage and maintains mail area.
• Equipment Transport: ensures oxygen tanks are filled and equipment is returned to its location.
• Adheres to Lahey Clinic guiding principles, mission, and goals.
• Complies with Lahey Clinic policies and department behavioral expectations.
• Maintains courteous interactions with colleagues and patients.
• Understands job description, performance expectations, and competency assessments.
• Aims to meet customer needs and uphold Customer Service standards.
• Participates in departmental/interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
• Completes mandatory education and other assigned tasks.
