Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY. This part-time role supports the General Surgery (Med Surg) department with day, evening, and night rotations and every other weekend.

You will assist with hygienic care, vital signs, and patient comfort under RN supervision. The ideal candidate has or is pursuing an Associate's degree with CNA certification or nursing fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18
• Associates degree preferred
• CNA certification or related medical assistant experience preferred
• Excellent customer service and communication skills desired

Responsibilities

• Provide direct or indirect patient care per treatment plan under RN supervision.
• Perform patient vital signs, pulse oximetry, and basic clinical tasks.
• Assist with hygiene, bathing, grooming, and mobility; support safe ambulation and transfers.
• Prepare rooms, stock supplies, and assist with admissions/discharges as needed.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and family requests with empathy and professionalism.
