Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) is seeking a Nursing Support role to assist registered nurses in direct patient care on the unit in Baltimore, MD. Responsibilities include helping with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, and supporting medication administration under supervision.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and at least 6 months of direct patient care experience; strong communication, interpersonal, and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Able to read and write English to provide basic patient care and record measurements
• Interpersonal skills to interact with patients, visitors, physicians and staff
• Strong communication skills for clear information exchange
• Basic computer skills for charting and data entry
• Competent to safely handle medications and related procedures

Responsabilités

• Provides for care, comfort, and safety of assigned patients under direct supervision of a nurse
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, hygiene, linens)
• Uses proper infection-control techniques
• Performs delegated nursing care procedures as directed
• Observes patients and reports changes to nursing staff
• Completes observation documentation and meal assistance as needed
• Maintains patient rooms and stock of supplies
• Assists with admission, transfer, discharge and patient movement
• Operates and uses EMR systems as trained
• Precepts and mentors new staff as needed
• Participates in unit-based meetings and scheduling
• Contributes to quality and safety initiatives
• Leads shift huddles and collaborates with unit leadership
• Demonstrates GBMC values (Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Teamwork, Ethical Behavior)
