Job summary

University Hospitals in Beachwood, Ohio, seeks a Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) to support RN-directed patient care activities, perform ADLs, monitor vital signs, I&O, and assist with data collection and documentation.

The PCNA will help with unit operations, equipment handling, onboarding new staff, and ensuring PHI privacy. This role requires compassionate patient interactions and adherence to policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care tasks as delegated by the RN and assists, under the direction of the RN, in the implementation of the established plan of care.
• Compassionate in all interactions with patients, families, and peers.
• Follows established evidence-based prevention guidelines to promote positive patient outcomes.
• Provides a safe environment in patient rooms and on unit.
• Facilitates stocking and ordering of supplies for patient care.
• Assists with unit communication.
• Acts as a key resource for onboarding and training new team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
