Job summary

Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a casual, as-needed Patient Care Assistant to join our 2 South Med Surg team. You will support nursing by performing patient care tasks and daily living activities under supervision.

Responsibilities include basic nursing tasks, vital signs, charting, lab specimen collection, and assisting with clerical duties and supplies. Documentation of credentials is required at interview.

Qualifications

• Proof of required degrees, certificates or certifications at interview.
• Documentation of 80% or higher on Medical Terminology exam.
• Proof of completion of a Medical Assistant degree or CNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care activities and daily living tasks.
• Perform tasks such as cleaning, taking vital signs, collecting specimens and charting.
• Provide clerical support and help with supplies and patient transport as needed.
