Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a patient care assistant to support the nursing team in daily patient care activities, comfort, and safety. You will assist with personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, linen changes, and meal delivery, and help transport patients to tests and procedures.

Under nurse direction, you may record temperatures or vital signs and provide between-meal nourishment. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program or one year of patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program or one year of patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing team with a variety of patient care activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and walking.
• Change bed linens and assist with patient transportation to tests and procedures.
• Serve food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment.
• Record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
