Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUHA) seeks a Nursing Assistant to join the MedSurg team in Florence on an hourly basis. The role supports nursing staff with direct patient care, including hygiene, dressing, mobility, and comfort, under supervision.

Additional duties include meal service, linen changes, and safe patient transport to tests. Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing team with patient care activities and related services to meet personal needs, comfort and safety.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene, dressing and walking.
• Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures.
• Serves and collects food trays and provides between-meal nourishment.
• May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
