Job summary

Summit Pacific Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Specialist I for per diem, variable shifts at our Elma, Washington campus. You will schedule and register patients, verify insurance, and collect payments while delivering compassionate customer service.

Responsibilities include handling multi-line calls, performing intake, and supporting administrative tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience. Per diem status and shifting hours provide flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates preferred.
• Healthcare revenue cycle knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with patient insurance verification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and register patients in applicable software; verify patient data and insurance.
• Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations for services.
• Conduct registration interviews prior to visits; collect payments as applicable.
• Answer phones and route inquiries to appropriate staff; maintain accurate records.
• Assist with daily tasks and mail handling; support workflow improvements.
