Job summary

Rivers Health in West Virginia is seeking a full-time Nursing Assistant to provide patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. You will deliver and document care according to hospital policies and follow aseptic technique as indicated.

You will observe and report patient concerns, safely transport patients and supplies, protect privacy, assist with orientation of new staff, complete competencies, and help keep the unit clean.

Responsibilities

• Renders patient care under supervision of RN or LPN.
• Delivers and documents care according to hospital policies, procedures and philosophies.
• Follows aseptic technique at all times and uses sterile technique when indicated.
• Observes and reports patient concerns and changes in condition to a Nurse.
• Safely transports patients, supplies, and specimens.
• Respects patient privacy rights and values, and provides care accordingly.
• Assists with orientation of new employees.
• Completes all annual competencies.
• Assists with unit cleanliness.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with Corporate Policies, Procedures and Personnel Handbook.
• Must be able to cross-train to other units.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and unit meetings.
