Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Human Services is seeking a Nurse Aide to provide direct resident care in a long-term or specialized care setting. This role focuses on supporting daily routines, safety, and well-being while adhering to care plans and infection control practices.

You will work 40 hours weekly, with shifts from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM; weekends and holidays may be required. A conditional offer includes medical examination and background checks as required by state law.

Qualifications

• Active PA Nurse Aide registration OR six months paid experience in geriatric or physically ill patient care.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions and meet medical examination & drug screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene support and meet residents' physical and emotional needs.
• Assist with restorative programs to help residents reach highest potential.
• Use communication skills and crisis prevention techniques to advocate for residents.
• Participate in team meetings, discuss treatment goals, and help maintain sanitary conditions.
• Teach residents basic tasks, assist with meals, and apply infection control techniques.
• Report changes in resident condition or environment through verbal or written updates.
