Qualifications

• Graduate of a practical nursing program.

• Florida 30 hour IV Certification within 6 months.
• Unit-specific certifications as required.
• English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates effective administration of medications and IV therapy under supervision of an RN.
• Documents nursing care, changes in condition, and treatments in patient records.
• Monitors patients and provides shift start reports to RN; reports changes promptly.
• Follows interdisciplinary plan of care coordinated by the RN.
• Completes competency assessments and maintains professional standards.
• Communicates effectively with health care team and promotes teamwork.
• Provides patient and family education as directed by the plan of care.
• Assists with hourly rounding and bedside shift reports.
