Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Night Shift Registered Nurse at Doey's House in Hagerstown, MD to provide compassionate hospice care from 7pm to 7am. This role emphasizes patient- and family-centered nursing in a life-limiting illness context, with strong emphasis on safety, infection control, and documentation.

Qualifications include ADN/BSN, two years of nursing experience or equivalent, and an active MD RN license.

Qualifications

• ADN and/or BSN from an accredited institution.
• Two years of nursing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active Maryland registered nursing license.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care to patients with life-limiting illness to maintain the highest level of care with the primary physician.
• Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-directed care plans; consult with attending physician as needed.
• Evaluate patient and family responses, modify care plans, and educate patients/families to promote independence and quality of life.
• Document accurately in the chart and forms to provide a written record of inpatient care.
• Participate in Quality Improvement programs to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Supervise Patient Care Partners and volunteers to maintain a safe, effective care environment.
• Complete daily acuity assessments for assigned patients and support families at time of death.
