Job summary

La Palma Intercommunity Hospital offers a Mental Health Worker position supporting both inpatient and outpatient services. You will assist licensed staff with daily living activities, document patient care, and help maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

The role requires a valid CNA license or relevant hospital experience, BLS within 30 days of hire, and familiarity with medical and psychiatric terminology. Night shift, on-site. Competitive benefits.

Qualifications

Must have current and valid license as a Certified Nursing Assistant issued by the State.
If not CNA, have a minimum of one year experience working as Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting preferred.
BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
One (1) year prior mental health experience preferred.
Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist licensed nursing staff in providing and documenting patient care including activities of daily living.
Support unit functions and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors and co-workers.
Communicate pertinent patient information to the supervising RN.
Perform some clerical duties as assigned and provide basic nursing care for adult and geriatric patients.
In outpatient, carry out activities of daily living program and individual treatment plans for psychiatric patients.
