Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. The role emphasizes safety, comfort, and patient satisfaction within a collaborative care team.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a PCT/CNA/MA program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship, and AHA BLS within 60 days. Experience in phlebotomy and EKG is preferred. Comprehensive benefits and professional growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of one of: CNA, Medical Assistant or PCT program; or Fundamentals of Nursing; or HMH PCT Apprenticeship; or EMT/Home Health Aide/CMA/MA/PCT background.
• Candidates without completed programs may enter the HMH PCT Apprentice Program and transfer after completion.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of start.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age-specific criteria and patient needs.
• Take and document vital signs and notify RN of abnormal results.
• Perform venipuncture and collect specimens with proper labeling.
• Assist with patient transport, mobility, meals, and hygiene as needed.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning from admission to discharge and in PI activities.
