Job summary

Bethesda Group in Colorado Springs is seeking a Medical Assistant to prepare exam rooms, take vital signs, document in the EMR, and assist clinicians with patient flow. You will obtain patient histories, monitor for deviations, and maintain confidentiality across clinics.

The ideal candidate has an accredited MA program, certification within a recognized body, and comfort with phlebotomy and basic lab prep. Travel to clinic sites may be required; strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Certification within a certifying agency (CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA) within 640 hours (4 months) and passed exam is required to remain eligible.
• One year of experience with frail/elderly population preferred, usually in hospital, long-term care, or home health.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact clearly with internal and external customers.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as email, internet, timekeeping, and Electronic Health Records.
• Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment and rooms for examinations.
• Takes vital signs and weights and records in the EMR.
• Gathers brief history of visit reason.
• Monitors participants and reports variances to clinician for further assessment.
• Maintains confidentiality of company procedures and participant information.
• Handles potentially infectious specimens with universal precautions.
• Travels to clinic sites as needed to support coverage.
• Provide phlebotomy services including venipuncture, specimen processing, and prep for lab pickup.
