Job summary

Alta Vista Global Protection is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced urgent care setting. The role includes preparing patients, taking vital signs, and assisting healthcare providers with visits and procedures.

The candidate should be proficient in medical terminology, experienced with electronic health records, and able to maintain patient confidentiality while delivering compassionate care. Training for X-Ray and EKG will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and charting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Take and record vital signs (BP, temperature, pulse).
• Assist Providers during patient visits.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and collect specimens.
• Administer medications and injections under supervision.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Maintain nursing stations and examinations areas per OSHA standards.
• Answer and screen phone calls.
• Perform X-Ray and EKG (training provided).
• Assist occupational medicine staff with urine specimens.
