Job summary

LSCC in Round Rock, TX is seeking Medical Assistants who are passionate about improving community health. You will perform clerical duties and assist clinicians, document patient histories, record vital signs, prepare examination rooms, and support routine diagnostic tests.

We value a high school diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant program, and BLS certification. Preferred: MA certification, EMR experience, prior MA work, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Preferred: MA certification and EMR experience.
• Experience as a Medical Assistant is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish abilities are valued.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient history and clinical information.
• Record vital signs and document in patient charts.
• Maintain examination and treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Perform routine diagnostic and laboratory tests.
• Administer medications as directed by licensed staff.
• Explain procedures to patients under supervision.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Medical Assistant program completion

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
