Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform clinical, technical, administrative, and clerical duties under supervision of a licensed physician, APRN or PA. The incumbent will prepare patients for examinations, record vitals and complaints, assist during examinations and procedures, and manage medications and immunizations as ordered.

Qualifications

• Education: In South Carolina, completion of medical assistant training program from one of the following.
• Education: In Tennessee—completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical, technical, administrative and clerical duties as directed by the physician and within the scope of training and certification.
• Receives critical lab values, reports value to physician and documents notification in medical record.
• Prepares patients for examination and treatment; records chief complaints, medications, vital signs, allergies.
• Assists physician with examinations, tests, procedures and office-based surgery.
• Manages medications and immunizations as ordered by the physician; demonstrates competency.

Tennessee accredited MA program preferred
