Job summary

UCLA Health in Burbank, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the Family Medicine clinic. You will work under the supervision of physicians and nurse practitioners, performing basic clinical tasks, patient care, and administrative support in an ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, venipuncture, EKG, medication administration, and assisting during procedures. Strong CPR/EMS skills and flexibility to cover front/back office are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptomology and life threatening medical problems.
• BLS or CPR certification from American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Ability to administer CPR and medications (oral, IM, subcutaneous).
• Ability to venipuncture and perform basic procedures with OSHA safety.
• Ability to take accurate vital signs and manage patient data.
• Ability to assist in medical emergencies and office procedures.
• Experience with computerized patient care systems.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to work both back and front office to support workflow.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurse practitioners under supervision in ambulatory family medicine care.
• Provide basic administrative, clerical and technical support as needed.
• Support during life-threatening emergencies and ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Participate in patient care activities including measuring vitals and preparing samples.
