Qualifications

• EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of accredited/approved MA program and MA Externship/Internship.
• Credentialed MA options include CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC.
• If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 0-1 year previous clinical experience or equivalent; 2+ years if no MA program/externship.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
