Job summary

Native American Community Clinic is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support patient care delivery in a fast-paced clinic in Minneapolis, MN. You will perform essential tasks such as taking vital signs, administering vaccines, assisting with exams and procedures, and maintaining the EMR.

Ideal candidates hold CMA certification with current BLS CPR and vaccination verification; 2+ years in a medical clinic is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from a college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two or more years of experience in a medical clinic setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and record vital signs, health screens, vision and hearing checks.
• Conduct patient call-backs and follow-ups as needed.
• Educate patients and prepare them for exams, tests, or procedures.
• Prepare equipment and assist with exams, tests and procedures.
• Sterilize instruments and manage biohazard waste.
• Administer immunizations and collect specimens as needed.
• Maintain and update the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Assist with retrieving patient records and organizing exams rooms.
