Job summary

StoneBridge Chillicothe is seeking a Certified Medication Technician to assist in administering medications to residents under physician direction and nursing leadership. You will support clinical documentation, safety practices, and interprofessional care in a compassionate senior living setting.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• Licensed medication tech with state-approved training and exam as per state laws.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form in an interdisciplinary care setting.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies and procedures governing the administering of medications to residents.
• Note and report errors in the administration of medications.
• Assist in developing and implementing procedures to determine what medication errors occur and how to prevent them.
• Complete necessary forms, charts, reports, and other administrative requirements as required.
• Ensure documentation of drug receipt errors includes a written error report signed by an observer/witness.
• Accurately measure, record, and report residents' vital signs.
• Promptly notify the Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor, or Director of Nursing Services of any errors or reactions to medications.
• Follow the medication card practices of the facility.
• Record orders in the resident's clinical record including type, route, dosage, frequency and strength.
