St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support the nursing team in Med Surg. You will assist with daily patient care, vital signs, mobility, and comfort, helping RNs carry out care plans and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for patients and families.

This role emphasizes teamwork, empathy, and clear communication with patients and families. No travel; Basic Life Support is required within 30 days of start date.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality
