Job summary

Riverside Health System in Smithfield, Virginia is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to monitor residents under supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Nursing Supervisor. You will provide direct nursing care, administer medications and treatments per orders, and ensure patient safety and comfort.

This role includes supervising CNAs, documenting changes, and participating in care planning.

Qualifications

• Experience: Less than 1 year Nursing experience (Preferred)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/AHA/ARC within 30 Days(Required)

Responsibilities

• Medications and treatments are administered accurately and according to provider's orders.
• Allows resident choices within limits of capability considering safety /dignity issues and follows policies and procedures of facility to include resident privacy and dignity.
• Assigns duties to non-professional staff such as CNAs according to education, training, policy and resident need in order to assure quality resident care is delivered.
• Engages team members for optimal performance and addresses performance as needed.
• Participates in administering medications, treatments, monitoring and observation of resident care.
