Job summary

Qualifications

• LPN or LVN licensure required in state.
• BCLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Mississippi state requirements: ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications; STABLE within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision and monitor vital signs.
• Conduct focused patient assessments and report changes to the team.
• Administer medications, treatments, and injections per orders and safety protocols.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
• Document care, interventions, and observations accurately in the medical record.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and post-discharge care.
• Maintain infection control and safety standards; participate in emergencies.
• Assist with basic procedures such as wound care, catheterization, and specimen collection.
• Participate in orientation and training of new staff or nursing students.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
• Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies for patient care.
• Respond to medical emergencies and support code team interventions.
