Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care, including IV therapy, within the scope of the LPN Act under RN supervision. You will support a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, personalized patient care and adhere to regulatory standards.

Required: High school diploma, valid LPN license in the state of practice, and BLS certification. IV therapy credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
• IV therapy credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process in patient care through data gathering, planning and evaluation.
• Provide care based on patient age, safety, and educational needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and co-workers to ensure quality care.
• Adapt to rapid changes in the unit/department as needs evolve.
• Maintain clinical knowledge, skills, training and credentials.
• Perform other related duties as required.
