Work Environment

Your role will involve working remotely from the comfort of your home, while being part of a supportive community health clinic dedicated to mental wellness. Working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility available to accommodate patient scheduling needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed and culturally sensitive mental health assessments, actively listening to patients’ experiences and backgrounds to create individualized treatment plans.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to implement personalized interventions that respect each patient’s cultural context and personal history.
• Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions, encouraging positive mental health practices and resilience among participants.
• Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers to deliver comprehensive care that underscores coordinated support for patient outcomes.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, equipping patients with coping strategies and resources.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, treatment methods, and available community resources, empowering them to engage actively in their care.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Participate in regular case conferences and team meetings, contributing insights and enhancements based on ongoing professional development and cultural competency training.
• Stay abreast of the latest research, treatment modalities, and best practices in mental health therapies, ensuring a high standard of care for all patients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our center primarily serves a diverse client base including individuals from various ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ community members, and immigrant populations. As a therapist, you will play a crucial role in addressing the unique mental health challenges faced by these groups, delivering care that is both inclusive and effective. Your contributions will facilitate improved mental health outcomes in community members who may experience stigma or underrepresentation within traditional healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.
• A strong understanding of mental health disorders, cultural competence, and evidence-based treatment strategies.
• Proven experience providing therapy to diverse populations, employing inclusive practices that enhance patient engagement and care.
• Exceptional crisis intervention skills, able to remain composed and effective in high‑pressure situations.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities; adept at building relationships with clients from various cultural backgrounds.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) technologies and commitment to practicing within ethical guidelines and maintaining confidentiality.
• A collaborative mindset, eager to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve common patient‑centered goals.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in community mental health settings or outpatient clinics focusing on diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic populations.
• Background in providing psychotherapy that incorporates cultural perspectives and practices in treatment methodologies.
• Previous roles that required crisis management and emergency intervention skills.

Compensation and Benefits
