Job summary

Harmony Pointe Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated Laundry Specialist to perform daily laundry tasks for a long-term care facility. You will ensure cleanliness, safety, and sanitary conditions while supporting residents and staff.

The role emphasizes following schedules, coordinating with nursing staff, and maintaining accurate records. Training is provided on-site, focusing on proper handling of textiles, supplies, and safety practices in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

Must possess, as a minimum, an 8th grade education.
On-the-job training provided.
Follow safety, sanitation and cleaning guidelines in a long-term care environment.

Responsibilities

Ensure that work and cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
Coordinate daily laundry services with nursing services when performing routine assignments.
Collect soiled laundry (linens and clothing) from all living and medical units.
Sort unwashed articles by color and fabric and tracks all items collected.
Report any shortages or discrepancies in counts to the Housekeeper.
Load and unload washing and drying machines; wash, fold, and place clean articles on racks by units.
Press/iron garments as instructed.
Maintain clean floors and walls and clean work areas.
Maintain accurate records of all laundry items and paperwork.
