Job summary

Serenity Spring Senior Living at Scandia Village in Wisconsin is seeking a dedicated laundry/housekeeping team member to support resident care by handling cleaning and linen duties in a respectful, safe environment.

You will sort, wash, dry, fold, and deliver linens, maintain sanitation, and follow established policies while communicating with residents and staff to ensure comfort and cleanliness for all residents.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with intra-department personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to assure that environmental services can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
• Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disables, elderly, emotionally upset residents in the facility.

Responsibilities

• Handle and sort soiled linen and personal clothing.
• Load and operate washers and dryers in accordance with specific operating instructions.
• Follow specialized sanitation procedures to avoid contamination of clean linen.
• Fold and/or hang clean linen and personal clothing in accordance with the Supervisor’s instructions.
• Transport and deliver clean linen and personal clothing to floors and resident’s rooms
• Clean and sanitize work area daily including machines, work tables and sorting area.
• Maintain laundry machines and carts in a aseptic condition.
