Job summary

PurposeCare is seeking a dedicated Caregiver to provide compassionate, in-home care to clients in their homes within the Aurora Homecare service area. You will assist with daily living activities, meals, medication reminders, and safety tasks to promote independence and comfort.

CPR and First Aid certification are required, along with the ability to pass background and skills checks, reliable transportation, and the ability to document care.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Proven experience or training in providing personal care or home health assistance.
• Ability to pass a background check and a competency skills check.
• Reliable transportation to travel to client homes within the Aurora Homecare service area.
• Ability to follow written care instructions and document services.
• Compassion, patience, and professionalism with vulnerable populations.
• Ability to work independently in home settings.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to maintain personal hygiene and comfort.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and assist with feeding when necessary.
• Provide medication reminders and monitor clients for any adverse reactions or changes in condition, reporting concerns to supervisors or healthcare providers.
• Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and organizing to ensure a safe and clean living environment.
• Answer phones and communicate effectively with clients, family members, and provide updates to the office.
• Respond promptly to emergencies by administering basic first aid or CPR as needed and contacting emergency services.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation and promote mental well-being.
