Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Mississippi driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience transporting individuals with IDD, disabilities, or special needs preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Patient, compassionate, and dependable demeanor.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and secure adaptive equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport IDD program participants to and from the day program facility and community destinations.
• Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, and securing wheelchairs or mobility devices as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning program vehicle at all times.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns.
• Follow established routes and schedules while adapting to participant needs.
• Communicate effectively with program staff regarding participant status, incidents, or concerns.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and agency policies.
