Job summary

Brighten Life Home Health and Hospice in St. George is seeking a Massage Therapist to provide hospice massage services, improving comfort and quality of life for patients at home or in facilities.

This PRN role requires a valid massage therapy license and a background in geriatric or hospice settings, with strong communication and teamwork to coordinate care with the hospice team. Flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid and current massage therapy license/certification as required by state law.
• Minimum of five years of therapeutic massage experience preferred, with hospice/geriatric/medical settings desirable.
• Experience working with geriatric and terminally ill populations.
• Ability to accept and respect diverse lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems.
• Compassionate, adaptable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional massage and body treatments according to hospice protocols and accepted certification practices.
• Assess, evaluate, and establish individualized massage therapy plans and goals for each patient.
• Provide comfort touch massage to hospice patients in homes or care facilities.
• Communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary hospice team to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Educate patients and families about benefits and limitations of massage therapy for symptom management and comfort.
• Uphold standards of sanitation, sterilization, and safety in all patient interactions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, patient responses, and observations in patient records.
• Address patient and family questions with professionalism and compassion.
• Attend staff meetings and ongoing training as required.
• Perform aromatherapy during massage visits if requested and approved.
