Job summary

Advocate Health in Chicago seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant to support hospice patients under supervision. You will set up rooms, orient patients and families to the environment, and provide personal care as part of the care team.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, toileting, nutrition, and documenting patient needs and outcomes. CPR certification is required and you will work within Advocate values.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic computer keyboard functions is preferred.
• Courteous and professional interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates responsible and ethical behaviors aligned with Advocate values.
• Certified Nursing Assistant CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up patient’s room.
• Orients patient and family to room, including layout, call lights, bed functions, TV and telephone.
• Obtains vital signs including height and weight.
• During admission/transfer/discharge ensures belongings are documented.
• Provides personal care: bathing, oral care, shaving, backrub, skin care.
• Assists with mobility, positioning, ROM and transferring needs.
• Responds to call lights and patient requests.
• Assists with care for indwelling catheters or tubes.
• Documents patient care reflecting needs and outcomes.
