Job summary

McLeod Health seeks a Hospice Aide for full-time homecare in Florence, SC. You will provide compassionate personal care, light housekeeping, and assist with activities of daily living in patients’ homes under RN supervision.

The role requires a nursing assistant course with supervised training, a valid SC driver’s license, and the ability to communicate with families and care teams. You’ll participate in care planning, documentation, and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a 75-hour Nursing Assistant Course with 16 hours supervised training; certificate or license required.
• Must pass a competency skills checklist during orientation.
• Current South Carolina Driver’s License and automobile insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective personal care and light housekeeping to hospice patients in their home.
• Notify patient’s primary nurse or manager of changes in condition or family concerns.
• Document information accurately; laptop synchronization each morning and evening.
• Perform routine skin inspections and report abnormalities to RN.
• Assist patients with ROM exercises and routine care as prescribed.
• Support social and emotional needs; encourage independence and bereavement visits as indicated.
