Job summary

Arc Hospice & Palliative Care is seeking a Hospice Aide (CNA) – PRN to provide direct personal care and compassionate support to patients across the service area. You will work with a collaborative clinical team to support comfort and dignity at end of life in patients' homes and licensed facilities.

The role emphasizes empathy, thorough documentation, and adherence to care plans, with weekend/evening coverage as needed and supervision by a registered nurse or clinical manager.

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in good standing with completion of a state-approved training program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to read, follow, and document written care instructions accurately.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Commitment to hospice philosophy and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, and skin care as assigned.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, repositioning, and range-of-motion exercises as directed.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.
• Assist with meals, feeding, and hydration support according to the plan of care.
• Provide companionship, emotional support, and respectful presence to promote comfort and dignity.
• Take and record vital signs when trained and directed by the nurse.
• Maintain a clean and safe care environment, including light housekeeping related to patient care.
• Provide weekend or after-hours support when directed by clinical leadership.
