Job summary

VNS Health is seeking a Personal Care Aide (PCA) to assist New York clients with daily living activities, personal care, and safety under RN supervision. The role includes bathing, grooming, meal prep, light housekeeping, transportation to appointments, and medication reminders.

Documentation and communication with the care team are essential. Qualified candidates have completed a NYS PCA training or equivalency, strong reading and math skills, and are at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

• Completion of NYS PCA Training or equivalency.
• Reading comprehension at 6th grade level.
• Writing and basic math skills sufficient for job tasks.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Assists clients with personal care activities, including bathing, mouth care, skin care, grooming, toileting, transferring, and ambulation.
• Assists with housekeeping tasks: meals, feeding, light housekeeping, changing linens, making beds, laundering.
• Maintains client safety using equipment (side rails, wheelchairs, etc.).
• Provides transportation to appointments, errands, and social activities.
