A First Name Basis (AFNB) is hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Marrero, LA to provide essential in-home care for seniors and individuals with disabilities. You will assist with personal care, companionship, light housekeeping, and transportation to appointments in clients’ homes across the service area.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid ID, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass background and drug screenings.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform personal care tasks with compassion and professionalism.
• Ability to document care provided accurately and on time.
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Willingness to participate in competency assessments and trainings.

Responsabilités

• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Assist with light housekeeping and meal prep; aid feeding as needed.
• Provide medication reminders and accompany to appointments as required.
• Monitor changes in health and report to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe home environment and use safety equipment properly.
• Document care provided in accordance with policies and regulatory standards.
• Travel to client homes and schedule visits across service area.
• Complete required in-service training during onboarding and annually.
