Job summary

Catholic Funeral & Cemetery Services of the Diocese of Sacramento is seeking a Funeral Arranger at Calvary Cemetery and Funeral Center. This full-time role requires coordinating funeral services and serving families with compassion.

You will meet with families, arrange services, coordinate with directors, clergy, and cemeteries, and handle documents and merchandise orders. A California driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and Catholic in good standing are required.

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic with knowledge of Catholic Church.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
• Excellent interpersonal and phone skills; strong organization.
• Ability to communicate effectively with spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the ministry in accordance with the Rites of Christian Burial.
• Exhibit exceptional customer service, empathy and respect.
• Meet with families and arrange funeral, memorial, and cremation services.
• Coordinate funeral details with parish staff, clergy and cemeteries.
• Coordinate shipping/receiving of decedents to/from other funeral homes.
• Prepare and process death certificates, contracts, receipts and forms.
• Assist families with obituaries online and in local newspapers and flowers.
• Arrange for service enhancements such as escorts or musicians.
• Process orders for merchandise (caskets, urns, video tributes, etc).
• Lead or assist with funeral services when required.
• Maintain cleanliness of Funeral Center/Home areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
