Job summary

Fallon Health Weinberg in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Food Service Associate to provide attractive, nutritious meals in a clean, efficient setting. The role reports to the day center manager and involves collaboration with a registered dietitian while complying with privacy and safety guidelines.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred), 6 months to 1 year of food service experience, and SERVE SAFE certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year of food service experience.
• Knowledge of food preparation methods, temperature requirements and hygiene standards.
• Certified in SERVE SAFE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, service and cleanup of meals according to menus and sanitation procedures.
• Follow work schedules and organize duties prior to starting tasks.
• Store, utilize and dispose of food and supplies according to regulations.
• Follow sanitation and safety standards in cleanup and operation of the kitchen and equipment.
• Report equipment needing repairs and accidents promptly.
• Assist Registered Dietitian with maintenance of Emergency food supply; rotate items as necessary.
• Adhere to weekly cleaning assignments and department policies.
• Complete required in-services as per NYS DOH and CMS regulations.
• Perform duties in the absence of the Supervisor, Food Service.
• Complete tasks or duties as assigned.
