Job summary

Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide caregiving and daily living support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will assist with ADLs, community participation, and behavioral support while helping clients live independently.

This is a Monday–Friday role, located in Monroe, NC, with paid onboarding and ongoing training. Starting pay is $15.40/hour with a $1,000 signing bonus paid in installments when averaging 20+ hours/week.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license, current automotive insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Willingness to address personal care needs when necessary.
• Lifting may be required depending on client needs.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities is not required – paid training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support to help individuals build independence and confidence.
• Assist with daily living activities (meal prep, hygiene, household tasks).
• Support community participation, employment, and social activities.
• Use adaptive tools to aid learning and communication.
• Encourage independence and development of new skills.
• Monitor health and safety and maintain a supportive environment.
• Communicate with Abound team, families, and case managers as needed.
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
